According to the website to which you linked, Foxit PDF Editor is not free, but $99 for a single-user license. The evaluation version does include all the features of the registered version, but includes a watermark on every page of the saved pdf, which I think merits a caveat in your listing. Otherwise, this is the most complete listing I’ve seen of its type. Thank you!

Mp3 tag editor: MP3 Tag, formerly known as MP3 TagIt. An excellent tagging app, it lets you change filenames based on tags, change tags from filenames, search CDDB databases, and more. Now (and this is news to me, I’ve been using an older version) it supports other metadata too, like in AAC, OGG, WMA, and more.

I’ve used it for years, and it has put every other tagging app to shame. Highly recommended, and free.

I just joined so if this is the wrong way to submit a suggestion, someone email me and let me know. I suggest adding a little freebey called GameXP. just goolge it. I repair home computers for gamers and this utility tweakes everything in one step. As an example, I play Battlefield 1942 but was never able to turn up the graphics until I used gamexp and now its tuned to the max with no problems. it also tweaked my net card an sound card, eliminated the background services that xp uses which slow your system, and fixed the registry. If you don’t like the changes, one click put all back the way it was.

Another program I was turned onto by my ISP is TrendMicro Housecall. just google ‘housecall’ and go to the uk link. I havent been able to get the us link working. this program finds and removes viruses, trojans, malware, syware-you name it! I was using AVG premium but it was missing things. I was also using Spybot S+D but that was missing problems too. The first time I ran housecall (always run in safe mode with networking) it found and removed 46 problems that the other 2 had totally missed.

  16. LtJackboot Says:

For a media player-codec combination- try the K-lite Super Codec pack. It includes all the codecs for all the formats and also has VLC media player, BS media player, Realplayer, Quicktime and Windows Media player classic. If you install this package instead of all your other media software, by default everything works in media player classic. It also includes a utility called the Four CC Codec changer which allows you to change the codec needed to read the file. Oh, almost forgot, it includes DivX as well.

It’s free for the Basic version, and then the version with all the extra bells and whistles (ability to encrypyt files, add passwords, add watermarks, add stamps), is $19.95.
